The Electronic Media ... a major means used to enlist terrorists

A reminder that according to the director of ACT for America, Brigitte Gabriel, "One of the principal reasons why today's [continuing] threat of 'Islamo-fascism' is so explosive is due to the unprecedented power of global communication. Never before in history have militant Muslims bent on jihad had the ability to recruit, radicalize, and train on the scale they can today. The jihadists understand that the Internet is their door to the entire world and they are actively using it" to the fullest possible extent.
Furthermore, jihadists have almost unlimited financial backing to do this. What they are doing today would not have been possible 20 years ago.
Here in ACTS besides using the powerful printed page we, too, are using the Internet, e-Mail, and now Facebook and Twitter—to the fullest extent of our ability—on an extremely limited budget.
Every weekday of the year we are now sending e-Mail messages to 351,000+ Daily Encounter worldwide subscribers (that's almost tripled in the past two-and-a-half years). This means that this year we will be sending out over 91 million Encounter messages! In addition, we are reaching thousands more daily via our websites and our aggressive advertising. Every month we have visitors to our web pages from 194 countries and territories. This, too, would not have been possible 20 years ago!
What is even more exciting is that every day of the year we are seeing salvation and re-commitment to Christ responses from around the world. To date this year they have come from 107 countries that we are aware of.
With every dollar you send for ACTS ministries you are helping to use today's powerful means of communications to combat not only the evils of 'islamo-fascism,' but also the evils of pornographers, and the work of Satan who is "hell-bent" on blocking the publishing of the gospel and stopping people from coming to Christ.
We cannot and we must not allow these enemies of the gospel to use the printed page, the Internet, e-Mail, Facebook, Twitter and other social networks more effectively than we Christians do. But we cannot do this without your support and the help of many more supporters.
Because of the state of the economy we have lost many monthly supporters in recent months. As a result, all our financial reserves are completely gone and we are in debt. We have cut expenses everywhere possible but urgently need to rebuild our financial base. To do this we are asking God for 120 new monthly Support Partners.
Why the 120? At the very beginning of the Christian church on the Day of Pentecost there were 120 disciples in the Upper Room when God poured out his Holy Spirit on the first disciples who, in turn, turned their world upside down for Jesus Christ. So we are asking God for 120 new monthly Support Partners who will commit by faith—with God's help—to turn the world upside down for many by supporting ACTS gospel outreach with a generous monthly donation for the next twelve months.

Your help at this time is urgently needed! We cannot afford to let radical terrorists and enemies of the gospel use the Internet and e-Mail more effectively than God's people do. For ACTS to do our part this is only possible with your help.
