Our Victory Story

"You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.”1

Have you ever thought of your life as a story written by God? We all know that the greatest stories present trials, challenges, and numerous dangers that the protagonists have to overcome. The adversities that the hero faces only win our hearts. If our hero becomes bitter about circumstances, we lose sympathy. On the other hand, if they decide to forgive their adversaries and get through every difficulty with grace, we cheer on every step they take. And when we see their situation transformed by that perseverance, it inspires us to do the same.

You are the protagonist of your own story, and when we walk in God's forgiveness, our story can be one of great victory.

Forgiveness is an ongoing process. Sometimes not only do we have to keep forgiving the same person over and over again, but we also encounter new situations, new hurts, and people to forgive. The story continues. And to make it a story of victory, you'll have to be vigilant to protect your heart from unforgiveness.

In 2 Corinthians 2:10-11, Paul urges Corinthian believers to forgive so that Satan does not take advantage of them. Let's face it, unforgiveness is one of the greatest weapons against Christians.

Isn't it exciting to realize that your story is also being created to stimulate other people? Your journey as a person who chooses to forgive is an example of what it is to hope and rest in God's strength, grace, transformation, and victory.

Mark 11:25 says, "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Suggested Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, today I come with a broken heart before you and I ask your forgiveness because sometimes it is not easy for me to forgive. Sometimes I don't want to forgive, thinking that what they did to me is not worthy of forgiveness, but you inspire me with your example to forgive the unforgivable. Thank you, Lord, that your love, through your Holy Spirit, reproves the depths of my heart and shows me whom and how I should forgive. Help me to be obedient so that you may glorify yourself in my life. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
