The Urgency of the Voice in the Night
Dear People Power for Jesus Partner,...
The following story is such a graphic illustration of the urgency of the need to spread the gospel in this day and age that I want to include it in this message. My apologies if you have read it too many times.
On March 15 the title of our Daily Encounter was, "A Voice in the Night." It was about a personal friend, Linda, who was awakened on a stormy night by a voice that said, "Sit up and take in a deep breath." Linda thought she was dreaming so went back to sleep. The same thing happened a second time. A third time the voice sounded more urgent than ever.
This time Linda sat up and took in a deep breath—and smelled smoke! Their house had been struck by lightning and was on fire. Linda woke the family and all rushed outside moments before their house exploded in flames.
This was a God thing as Linda and Steve are both committed Christians.

This week we will celebrate Easter—the event that changed the world forever—and gave to every believer in God the greatest hope for all mankind—the hope of forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. For this we will be eternally grateful. Not only did Jesus die in our place to pay the penalty for our sins, but he rose again and gave us the promise that he will come again for all who put their trust in him. What a glorious day this will be.
The sad fact, however, is that without Jesus, people are lost for all eternity. May we, like the voice in the night to Linda, with ever increasing urgency hear again Jesus’ commission to every one of his followers when he said, "You are to go into the entire world and preach [communicate] God’s good news to everyone—everywhere!"
Jesus said that when the gospel is preached in all the world, then would the end come. Today, because of all the incredible means of modern communication, the gospel is speeding to the ends of the world as never before. I believe that God has given our generation/s these greatest means of communication ever in order to reach the world with the gospel in preparation for Christ's return.
How much time do we have?
I don't know but would to God that every Christian would sense the urgency of the hour to help reach the world for Jesus Christ. But it seems that God has always only used a dedicated minority to get his work done on earth.
As a People Power for Jesus Partner, together we are definitely a part of a dedicated minority who are, with God's help, committed to helping spread the gospel both near and far.
We are grateful to God in that he is using ACTS websites and Daily Encounter to help reach thousands for Christ daily. Every weekday of the year Daily Encounter is going to over 320,000 worldwide subscribers . . . and every day we are seeing commitments to Jesus Christ.

In appreciation for God's Great Easter gift to the world will you, with me, re-commit ourselves to Jesus Christ's call when he commissioned us: “to go into the entire world and preach [communicate] God’s good news to everyone—everywhere!"
