Are you ready to change the world?

Dear People Power Partner,

The other day I read on a can of soda: “Are you ready to change the world? Give a year. Change the world.”

“Very interesting,” I thought, “What is this all about?” So I checked online and discovered that this is an organizational youth movement called City Year. It was founded in 1988 on the belief that young people can change the world. City Year is calling young people to invest their lives in full time service for 10 months to serve in schools and neighborhoods across the USA and in South Africa. City Year seeks to: Help children succeed; Build stronger communities; Break down social barriers; Develop young leaders; and Foster active citizenship.

Since 1988, City Year’s more than 10,400 corps members have: Served 1,060,000 children; Completed 16 million hours of service; Partnered with more than 1050 corporations and 3,100 service organizations; and Engaged more than 1,015,000 citizens in service.¹

What a fantastic goal and service … another people power movement—a youth people power movement.  Great idea.

The reality is that people power is a mighty powerful force for change—either for good or bad! As blind Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

City Year’s purpose and goal is a terrific model and challenge for Christians to join with us in a People Power for Jesus movement! Thousands of committed Christians can together change the world—for Jesus!

ACTS Now has 277,000 Encounter subscribers on our Daily, Weekend and Prayer Encounter subscriber lists. At the current rate of growth we will easily have over 300,000 subscribers by the end of this year.

Please pray that this year we can get at least 10% of our subscribers (30,000) to join with us as People Power for Jesus Partners to help spread the gospel worldwide and truly help change the world for Jesus!

Through City Year 10,400 youth have already given 10 months full-time to help change and better the world. All we are asking People Power for Jesus Partners is to just spend a few minutes a day or even a week to forward suitable copies of Daily Encounter and inspirational web articles to family, friends and contacts to help change lives for all eternity and to help change the world for good and for God. Besides forwarding the articles just mentioned, will you please forward the People Power for Jesus website to Christian friends and contacts asking them to join with us to help change the world for God. It’s at www.actsweb.org/people_power.

Also, be sure to order a supply of the very attractive ACTS business witness cards to share with a variety of contacts. I’m giving them out all the time—am never pushy and have never had anyone not accept one. You can order these online at: https://actscom.com/witness_cards.php.

We have a supply of a new Business Witness Card with the title, “How to Be Sure You’re a Real Christian without being religious.” Over three million printed copies of this dynamic salvation message have been distributed. This is a great gospel message to forward to non-Christian friends and contacts.

One more simple but powerful suggestion. Every morning I pray, “Dear God, I am available again today. Please help and use me to be ‘as Jesus’ in some way to every life I touch.” I encourage you to do the same. It’s amazing the opportunities that arise out of this daily commitment.

As you daily pray this prayer may God richly bless and use you to be a very effective people power for Jesus partner and reward you in his own abundant way.
