Friday, September 25, 2009 Islamic Day of Prayer
Dear People Power for Jesus Partner,
In a Right Side News report, Ray Gano writes, "In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a National Day of Prayer. In 1988, President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer. This year, 2009, President Obama, decided to cancel the ceremony for the National Day of Prayer at the White House. The reason... not wanting to offend anyone."
[However] On Friday, "September 25, 2009 from 4am until 7pm, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion will be held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House. As a Christian, it makes me really wonder where the REAL direction of this country is headed.... They are expecting over 50,000 Muslims that day in Washington DC. Learn more, the website is: http://www.islamoncapitolhill.com/. Pay particular attention on the website to the bottom of the page where it states, 'OUR TIME HAS COME.'"1
According to President Barack Obama, speaking of the U.S.A., "We're no longer a Christian nation." He also said that "You might say that America is a Muslim nation."
Not so, as Pat Boone wrote, "America is emphatically a Christian nation, and has been from its inception! Seventy percent of her citizens identify themselves as Christian. The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were framed, written and ratified by Christians."
True, Muslims want America—and many other countries—to become Muslim countries and are steadly working towards this end. Should this happen to the U.S. and America be controlled by Shariah law, Americans can say farewell to their freedoms.

True, as Christians we are to love people of all religions, race, and color. This does not mean that we are to love their religion and we know that Islam, the religion of Muslims, and Christianity are poles apart. For a comparison grid between Christianity and Islam go to: http://www.carm.org/. It is tremendously important that all Christians know and understand these major differences.
We also need to be aware of the fact that Islam is on the march worldwide wanting to rule the world with their religious/political system and control it by their far reaching Shariah law.
What the world needs right now—perhaps as never before—is a great spiritual awakening and also the spreading and publishing of the gospel of Jesus Christ—the only hope for our sin-sick world.
This needs to start with earnest prayer and genuine commitment to Jesus Christ in word, action, and deed. As God's Word, the Bible, declared: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV).
So may we, People Power for Jesus Partners, make this our commitment and seek to get thousands of other Christians to make this same commitment and truly seek God's face until we see a great spiritual awakening.
And let us do everything in our power to help spread the saving gospel of Jesus Christ to people everywhere—across the street and around the world.
One person can't do much, but working together we can, with God's help and blessing, help change the world—one person at a time.
