Whatever you do, work at it with all your"); document.writeln("heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the"); document.writeln("Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.1

"); document.writeln("

As moms, I"); document.writeln("am sure we have all had moments where we wonder if our work really matters. Do"); document.writeln("all the repetitive things we do daily count for something? Should we be doing"); document.writeln("more? After the fourth load of laundry for the day, it is sometimes"); document.writeln("easy to think our work is mundane. For those of us who have secondary jobs as"); document.writeln("well, we often fall into the routine of our busy days and fail to see the"); document.writeln("importance of the task at hand.

"); document.writeln("

In preparing"); document.writeln("this devotion, I came across this quote by Charles Spurgeon"); document.writeln("that expressed exactly what I wanted to say. He said, \'€œYou are as much serving"); document.writeln("God in looking after your own children, and training them up in the fear of God, and"); document.writeln("minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be"); document.writeln("if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts.\'€

"); document.writeln("

Yes! What a"); document.writeln("difference it would make if we all realized the important calling God has given"); document.writeln("us as moms. We would never doubt the significance of our work again, whatever"); document.writeln("that may look like for each of us. We have been given the privilege of training"); document.writeln("our children up in the fear of the Lord and that is the primary foundation for"); document.writeln("life. Teaching our children how to talk with God through prayer is something"); document.writeln("they will need to practice their entire lives. We are raising disciples of the"); document.writeln("Almighty King. Our work counts more than we sometimes realize.

"); document.writeln("

We are all"); document.writeln("in different stages of motherhood. Some still have young children in"); document.writeln("the home, and others may have adult children who are now parents"); document.writeln("themselves. Our responsibilities as moms may shift, but your role remains"); document.writeln("important. With young children it may require constant physical attention to"); document.writeln("their developmental needs, whereas with older children we may find ourselves"); document.writeln("being a mentor and example as our children learn to navigate life. Whatever"); document.writeln("our role may be, I encourage you to continue working with all your heart"); document.writeln("because while we serve our children, we are serving the Lord.

"); document.writeln("

Suggested"); document.writeln("prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that I am loved and cherished by you. You"); document.writeln("see my heart, know my struggles, and hear my prayers. You are my strength and"); document.writeln("walk beside me each step of the way. Thank you for the important work you have"); document.writeln("given me. I pray that you would allow me to remember that everything I do; I am"); document.writeln("doing for you. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
