The Bible gives over 80 different names of God besides Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Through each name, God reveals unique aspects of His character to us. One of the names I have often clung to in my life is El Emunah, which means the faithful God.

As much as we strive to be faithful in our jobs, with our family and friends, or at our church, we will inevitably miss a meeting, our child's sports activity, or a family gathering. We are imperfect people and it is impossible to be present for all the things 100% of the time. This is why it is so encouraging to know that our God is always faithful! We can rely on Him completely without questioning if He will be there. We never have to doubt if he hears our prayers or if He will keep His promises, because He absolutely does! It is part of who He is.

As I was watching a documentary on the life of Moses the other day, I was reminded of God's great faithfulness. From the moment God saved him as a baby to the moment he stood before Pharoah asking him to let God's people go, God's hand of protection and guidance was on him every step of the way. Moses wasn't perfect, but God is perfect and His plan for Moses was perfect.

The same is true for us as well. Things will happen in our lives that keep us from being completely faithful to others. However, God's plans for us are always perfect because HE is perfect, and He can use us as part of His perfect plan despite our flaws. Moses had some anger issues and tended to be a little impulsive. God had to grow him in these areas, and also had to work with the Israelites because of their unfaithfulness, but ultimately they reached the promised land. We, too, will reach our potential in Christ as long as we abide in our Faithful God.

Suggested prayer: Dear God, thank you for your great faithfulness. I know that I can turn to Your perfection when I am imperfect and trust that you will transform and guide me. Thank you for the plans you have for me. Help me live in obedience to Your will and bring glory to Your name. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, Amen.
