It’s an age-old question, and at some point in our lives we have, or will have, wondered about it. What is my purpose on this earth? What am I supposed to be doing? Is this the life I was destined for? What if….? God’s great design allows for wonder and provokes us to ponder on the world around us â€" a world that HE created! The undeniable order and detail of Creation leads us to ask: “Why am I here? 

Many never arrive at the reason for their own existence, but if you are a Child of God, my friend, our purpose is clear â€" to glorify the God who created us. “Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.â€� (Isaiah 43:7 NKJV) Our purpose and the reason we were created was simply to honor and glorify God; He created us for His pleasure. “.... having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will...â€� (Eph. 1:5) It’s not about us, it never was. It has always been about Him! Just as a product reflects its manufacturer, we reflect our Creator. As the moon reflects the sun’s light, we are to radiate and reflect the Son!

Our actions and attitudes, customs and manners, our successes and failures, gains and losses, should all be met with praise and in turn give glory to the One who gives and takes away. We are here to glorify God and we do this by pointing others toward his goodness and love, sharing all that He has done and shining His light in this ever-darkening world. The opportunities for this are endless! Could there be any greater reason for our existence?

Suggested Prayer: Dear God, you are glorious beyond my imagination. How can I not praise your name? You have created me and purposed for me a life in You. Allow my life to bring honor and glory to You who is worthy of so much more! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
