We all wear a variety of “hats” every day. Husband or wife, parent, son or daughter, sibling, student, employee, employer, leader in ministry, etc., and in every role we want to do our very best and give it all that we have. We want to be present, productive, and meet the expectations of those we are serving at the moment. There are days when we have it nailed down and feel like we are doing all the things well, and then there are days when we feel completely overwhelmed, exhausted, and feel like we aren’t giving our best in any area!

In every role, with every hat we wear, in everything we do… we need Jesus. While it may be easy to forget our great need of Him on the good days, we sure remember on the bad days! We need His guidance, grace, love, mercy, strength, and hope every day.

Charles Stanley said, “We can be tired, weary and emotionally distraught, but after spending time alone with God, we find that He injects into our bodies energy, power and strength.”

Exhaustion comes when we forget the Source of our strength. Our everyday victories are a product of our never-ending trust in the Lord. Because of his presence in our lives, we can be present and purposeful in each task before us. His Words are life and put things in perspective when we feel unsure. They are the motivation we need when our heart grows weary, and the overwhelming sense of peace that sweeps over us as we turn all our cares over to our Father. Choose to put your trust only in the Lord, spend time with Him, and gain the strength needed to live a life for His glory.

Suggested prayer: Thank you, Lord, for never leaving or forsaking me. Help me to trust You unconditionally and seek you daily, so that I will have the tools I need to face each day. I want to live according to Your plan and purpose always. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
