Paul wrote about the need to trust in the power of Jesus. He shared a promise the Lord had given him: "My grace is sufficient for you; for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12-9). Paul was a great leader of the faith, but in the eyes of God he was no more deserving of grace than anyone else. We can have the same confidence in His power that the apostle had.

When Paul received Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he was adopted as a son of God. His sins were forgiven and he received the Holy Spirit so that he could begin his work serving the Lord.

Consider the time Paul spent in prison. To help him endure imprisonment, the Holy Spirit gave him physical and mental strength. At the same time, the Spirit put into the hearts of other believers the desire to minister to Paul's needs. More importantly, the Spirit gave him the courage to speak of Jesus to his Roman guards.

Paul trusted God for strength and, as a result, never gave up his faith. We serve the Almighty God as well, which means we have no excuse to run away from His plan.

Suggested Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that Your power is made perfect in my weakness. Although I do not like feeling “weak�, You come and lovingly teach me that it is okay not to be strong all the time, and that You have a divine purpose. In my weakest and most vulnerable moments: Glorify yourself! For every moment that I have felt that I cannot take it anymore, You are strong in me. Thank you for showing me that every painful moment with you by my side will always be worth it. May all honor and glory be to You, my Beloved Father! Amen.
