Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed,
for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you
with My righteous right hand.1
There is a song that I love by the Christian
music artist, For King and Country. The song is titled, “Shoulders” and the
lyrics hold such a powerful truth. Every time I hear this song, I am reminded
of how God is our Helper with whatever we are going through and at all times.
The chorus of this song says:
“My help comes from You. You're right here,
pulling me through. You carry my weakness, my sickness, my brokenness, all on
Your shoulders, Your shoulders.”
When the pain and worries of this world become
too much to bear, we are never alone. God is always there and ready to listen
to us when we come to him in prayer. God hears and answers. Then we will feel
the weight lifted off our shoulders because God is carrying us through on his. Whether
we are experiencing a breakup, family issues, illness, feelings of failure, or
even the loss of a loved one, all of these are just a few of the hard times we
will face here on Earth. During these times is when we need to pray and ask God
for help the most!
In Psalms 34:17, David reminds us that God
hears the cries of the righteous and helps us through our troubles. Regardless
of our situation, or how impossible our circumstances seem, God will always
hear us when we choose to seek him and give our burdens to him.
Suggested Prayer: Dear God, thank you for
always being there when I need you. Thank you that I can come to you with
whatever feelings I may be having at the moment, and know that you will hear me
and answer. You lift me up and carry my burdens when I don’t have the strength.
Thank you for everything you do and who You are. In the name of Jesus we pray,
Amen.
