Have Faith
And he said
to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is
over.”1
In the Bible,
there are many occasions where someone was healed because of their faith. One
example is in Mark 5:25-34, where we read about the woman who had been
suffering constant bleeding for twelve years who was healed because of her
faith. She had spent all of her money on many doctors, but she only got worse
over the years. Then, she heard about Jesus and what he could do. So, she went
to Jesus thinking to herself that she just needed to touch the fringe of his
robe and she would be healed. There was always a crowd wherever Jesus was, so
it was very difficult for someone to get through to him, but she did. Just as
she had thought, she was healed as soon as she touched His robe. The
bleeding stopped immediately and she felt it in her body that she had been
healed. At that moment, Jesus felt some healing power go out of him, and he
asked the crowd who had touched him. When the woman realized what had happened
to her, she went and fell to her knees in front of Jesus. As Jesus said, it was
her faith that had healed her.
I feel like a
lot of us can relate to this story because we often try to find healing, hope,
and comfort in worldly things, but they do not satisfy our needs. However, when
we realize that they are not what we need and we turn to the Lord for healing,
hope, and comfort, that is what we get. The only thing we need to do is have
faith. Just how that woman was healed by her faith, so can we. Whether we are
dealing with heartache, sickness, depression, addiction, or grief, we can have
faith that God is working even when we cannot see it and that God is healing us
both inside and out.
Suggested
prayer: Thank you, Lord, for your mercy and kindness. Please help me to
continue strengthening my faith in you and to trust that you are working all
things out for my good. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
- Mark 5:34 (NLT).
