Daily Encounter: A Week-day Devotional by a staff of ACTS International.

Friday, December 29, 2023

A Special Note from ACTS

We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.1

As this year comes to an end, we want to take a moment to thank you all for being part of our ministry family. Some of you have been with us since the beginning (55 years ago), and others have recently joined us, but regardless of how long you have been with us, we are so thankful you choose to read our Daily Encounters!

For those who are newer here, we want to tell you a little bit about us. ACTS International was founded by Richard Innes in 1968. He first began in Australia, then began living and operating from California in 1981. Richard went home to be with our Lord on January 10, 2023, but the desire of his heart was that this ministry would continue reaching others with God’s Word, and that many others would come to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Juan and Crystal Bonilla had been working alongside Dick (Richard) since 2012 both in translating the Daily Encounters, and serving on the ACTS board. In 2017, when Dick’s health began to decline, they were in search of new directors for the ministry. Juan helped conduct interviews with several prospects, but for one reason or another, the right fit was not found. Therefore, the decision was made to close the ministry. BUT GOD… He had other plans in store. That night as Juan and Crystal talked about this heartbreaking decision to close the ministry, God made it undeniably clear that they were the ones to take on this ministry! They knew it wouldn’t be an easy journey, but they stepped out in faith, trusting that God is faithful and would equip them for this calling. After they shared this news with the other board members, the interview was conducted, and all felt God’s peace as we knew God was in control. Juan and Crystal, along with their young children, previously served alongside missions both locally and internationally, so they merged their love of serving others with this new opportunity to share God’s love with others in writing Daily Encounters.

As a non-profit, our financial support comes from our readers who want to share in what God is doing in and through this ministry. We would not be where we are today without your faithful prayers and generous donations. One of our goals is to revamp our website (which has already begun), and start providing audio and video recordings as well as the written Daily Encounters to reach an even larger number of people with God’s Word. Please continue to pray for God’s leading and provision as we seek His will in how we can best serve others.

If you feel led to give a year-end donation, or would like to support this ministry on a monthly basis, you can do so online at: www.actsweb.org. If you prefer to send a check, you can do so by mailing it to:

Juan and Crystal Bonilla
